The games listed below should work on KGEN98, GENS or the other Megadrive emulators such as Genecyst and Dgen.They are all English language roms.Some have Japanese covers next to them but that is because I think they look better than the US / UK versions.
This is the game that made me buy a Megadrive and is also the game that got me into emulation.Originally I did not think the PC would be capable of doing a good job emulating the SNES and Megadrive.However, after seeing Sonic on KGEN98, I was amazed at the near perfect conversion. Sonic is a simple game but very fast and addictive.It is a great example of Megadrive emulation on the PC.
This is my favourite game of all time.It is the best RPG on the Megadrive by a long way.Shining Force 2 has
great graphics, gameplay and a strong story with a huge number of characters to choose from.It took me a while to get to grips with the control system
but after winning my first battle I could not put the game down.The battle system is one of the highlights of the game.It is similiar to playing Chess as there is a lot
of strategy involved in manoeuvring your characters to win a fight.One battle even takes place on a chessboard !
I also loved the way the whole story came together at the end.Nearly all the locations were connected together to make
one seamless world.
You must play Shining Force 2.It is one of THE greatest games ever made.Below is a link to an excellent Shining Force website: This is the first Shining Force game on the Megadrive.I do not think it is as good as Shining Force 2.
The story is told in chapters and does not seem to have the freedom of its sequel.However, the battles and characters are excellent, and it is definitley
worth playing if you like strategy RPG's. Soliel is an RPG that probably was overlooked by a few Megadrive owners.The graphics are nice and it has a well told story.From what I remember you
collect a group of animals to help you in your quest. A very cool little game, this one.The graphics and sound suit the game perfectly.It plays beautifully
and is very addictive.There are quite a few games in the Wonderboy series.Anyway, it's an RPG, it's quality,
and you need to download it ! This game is definitely worth downloading.I played it through recently and I would say
it is better than Wonderboy 5.The graphics and sound are better and you have a weird furry animal as a sidekick which you use to operate switches
and access high places.The 'Pepelego' gets bigger and bigger as the game goes on.Highly recommended.Use GENS to play it. I found this game on a Chinese website.
I have played it briefly and it seems to be similar to the Shining Force games.The graphics and sound are good but as it is in Chinese
